The focus and discussion on Northrop Frye is a non-ignorable content in the history of Canadian literary criticism.This thesis tries to clarify different voices from Canadian critics and dig out the inner logic of＂Northrop Frye effect＂in the history of Canadian literary criticism and believe that the Canadian critics＇reflections like inheritance,overturn and introspection satisfy their quest for national literature and identity.It also shows the sequence of thought and procession of the history of Canadian modern literary criticism.Meanwhile,it is important for modern Frye studies to figure out the misreading and misunderstanding from the critics since reasons of history and field of views.
