金印金册的颁赐，正式确立了格鲁派在藏传佛教中的主导地位及甘丹颇章政教合一地方政权的合法性。历辈达赖喇嘛都将清朝皇帝所颁赐的金印作为他执掌西藏政教大权的重要标志。

The gold seal and gold book officially established the leading position of Gelug Sect in Tibetan Buddhism and the legitimacy of Gandan Pozhan, a local government unificating the state and the church. All the Dalai Lamas have taken the gold seal awarded by the Qing Dynasty emperor as the important sign of Tibet’s political and religious power.
