The paper introduced professor SUN Yian’s experience in treating lactation mastitis. In SUN’s o pinion,the basic pathogenesis is milk deposition,obstruction in breast collaterals,stagnation of qi and blood,so the therapeutic principle is based on stage and internal-external treatment. The cure period is divided into 4 stages： stasis,heat-transmission,suppuration and ulceration. Significant effects have obtained and one typical case is p resented for inspecting and verifying.
