Deng Jie comes into the public view with his prose collection Silence of Heaven and Earth, in which different sorts of natural self, love for family and grassroots workers, and disposition of traditional literati constitute his narration of human nature. His pursuit of beauty is reftected in the poetic form and beauty, the reference to other sorts of arts such as movie, music and photography, and his diction and sentential arrangement.
