中国大学生英语演讲话语引用特征研究

A Study of the Quotation Features in English Speeches by Chinese College Students

本文以2015年"外研社杯"全国英语演讲大赛总决赛阶段的124篇有备英语演讲为语料,探讨二语英语演讲中话语引用的特征。研究发现:1)超过半数的演讲者实施了话语引用,所引源主要为以现当代外国名人;2)引用主要分布在篇中和篇末,以支撑论据和凸显主题目的为主,功能的有效性较高;3)引用方式以明源引用为主,但不表明出处的隐源引用约占四分之一。本文还分析了演讲者话语引用中存在的问题。研究发现为英语演讲教学提供了有意义的启示。

Based on a corpus of 124 final round prepared speeches from 2015 ＂FLTRP Cup＂ National English Speaking Contest, this study makes an analysis of the quotation features in EFL speeches. The major findings include ： 1 ） quotations have been applied in more than half of the speeches, and the majority of them are from contemporary foreign celebrities ; 2） quotations are mainly located at the middle or ending part to support arguments or highlight themes ; 3 ） of one fourth of the quotations, speakers do not mention the source. Problems in quotations have also been identified and discussed. The findings provide significant implications for the teaching of English public speaking.
