The ITMA 2015 in Milan/Italy, with its large numbers of exhibitors, visitors and presented innovations, was a thoroughly successful convention. Among the core topics of development was energy saving on textile machines by means of new construction control and technology concepts. The general trend towards a global electronic connection of all parts of life inspires companies to introduce more and more solutions for a future with an Industry 4.0. Many machine manufacturers have extended their product range to meet customer demand, or developed adjustable machine plants with modular solutions. However, developments for the classictextile markets in clothing and home textiles are still at the fore. The area of technical textiles in Europe, and Germany in particular. is a steadily expanding market with great future potential. Accordingly, it is large European companies who develop machines for this area of technical textiles. The following examples document this trend.
