这是一个"视觉智能"的时代。也是一个"世界图像"的时代。亦即约翰·伯格所言:"今天的我们总是以一种前人没用过的方式去观看艺术品。"(John Berger,Way of Seeing,New York:Penguin,1972.)我们又何尝不是以一种前人没用过的方式来观看与记录发生着的时代。随着数码影像的普及,视觉观看变成一种快餐消费,也造成一种虚浮、空洞和幻觉的影像堆砌。那么我们如何留下这个时代与我们在这个时代的痕迹呢?"小影像,大时代"正尝试给我们提供这样的启示。
This is an era of "visual intelligence", and of "world image" as well. According to John Berger, "'Today we see the art of the past as nobody saw it before." (John Berger, Way of Seeing, New York: Penguin, 1972.) Don't we witness and record this era as nobody did it before'? With the popularization of digital images and videos, seeing has become a kind of fast-food consumption and at the same time has also caused the piling up of superficial, empty and illusory images. Then how can we leave some traces of this age and those of ourselves who live in this age? "Recording of Time" is trying to provide us with some inspiration.
