The effects of four mulching patterns (soil surface covered with grass, soil surface covered with burned grass, soil surface coverd with burned grass + grass and no mulching) on growth and bulb yield of A. konjac were studied by the randomized block test to discuss the pollution-free high-yield cultivation technique of A. konjac. Results: The growth of A. konjac under the soil surface covered with burned grass + grass pattern is higher than other treatments very significantly and the bulb yield (2 138.26 kg/667m^2) is 46. 26%, 47. 53% and 156. 08% higher than the soil surface covered with burned grass treatment, soil surface covered with grass treatment and no mulching treatment respectively. The bulb yield of the soil surface covered with burned grass treatment and soil surface covered with grass treatment is 75. 07% and 73. 38% higher than no mulching treatment separately. The patterns of soil surface covered with grass and soil surface covered with burned grass + grass in A. konjac cultivation can reduce pesticide application level for controlling diseases and weeds, which is beneficial to produce high- quality and green ecological A. konjac products. The soil surface covered with grass and soil surface covered with burned grass+ grass patterns with a significant effect of yield increase in A. konjac pollutionfree cultivation should be popularized and applied in areas with early sowing condition and abundant grass resources.
