To investigate the secretion of reproductive hormone of Danzhou chicken at different laying period, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (EL1SA)was applied for the determination of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteotropic hormone (LH),prolactin (PRL),progesterone (P), and estradiol (E2)in blood at open prenatal period, open perinatal period, peak period and late laying period. The results showed that FSH and LH at open perinatal and peak period were significantly higher than that at open prenatal period and late laying period (P〈0.01);the level of PRL was escalated from open prenatal period to late laying period (P〈0.05);the level of E2 was gradually reduced from open prenatal period to peak period, and then significantly increased at late laying period (P〈0.01). P had a high concentration at open perinatal period and late laying period, and significantly higher than that at open prenatal period (P〈0.01). It was concluded that there were different changes in the levels of reproductive hormones in the blood of Danzhou chicken. The FSH,LH and P concentrations at open perinatal period were significantly higher than those at open prenatal period. The FSH and LH concentrations in the blood at the peak of laying period were higher than those at other periods. The concentrations of PRL,E2 and P in the blood at the later of laying period was significantly higher than those at the peak period, and there was a negative feedback regulation of FSH and LH secretion.
