This paper briefs the principle and the method of performing the common generator stator winding test and gives simple explanation of the problem existing in the test to assess whether the test data are satisfied or not so that any defects of the winding could be found out and removed so as to ensure safe and stable operation of the generator, reliable power supply and safety of both Dersonnel and equioment.
