2017年美国图森矿物宝石化石展在一月下旬隆重开幕,整个会场一如以往,井然有序,但新的矿物标本越来越少,来自全球主要矿物出产地如中国、俄罗斯、美国、巴西、墨西哥、巴基斯坦、印度等国的好标本更为珍贵。精品日渐珍稀,催生并增强矿物标本向矿物及矿物文化的开发与利用,这是一种新的现象和趋势。图森现场紫气东来展会现场,多家出售紫晶的展位前货柜堆积如山。行业整体新品发现较少,唯有以乌拉圭为代表产地的紫色水晶大量涌现,图森展一片紫气东来的气象（图1、图2）。
Tucson Gem,Mineral and Fossil Showcase is the largest gem,mineral,and fossil show in the world.There were thousands of vendors and countless fantastic specimens on display and for sale.Each year in February approximately 5,000 unique vendors converge on the charming,eclectic southwestern city of Tucson,Arizona for the world’s largest gem,mineral,meteorite,fossil,gem,and jewelry showcase.Vendors from all over the planet offer the finest selection of natural history wonders ever assembled.Itall started pretty small,back in 1955,with a free exhibition put together at a local school.In later years the event that started it all moved to a spot in Tucson’s Rodeo Grounds.Over the years,additional shows sprung up and collectively grew into the largest and most amazing display of rocks,fossils,gems,minerals’jewelry,beads,dinosaurs,and meteorites of all time.Conservative estimates put the annual number of show visitors at 50,000,and thafs a big influx for a city with an urban population of about 550,000.Today,the Tucson shows consist of about 45 separate events running concurrently in hotels,parking lots,and tents from the end of January through the middle of February.Admission free except for one show at the Tucson Convention Center,and most are open to the public,though a few are wholesale only and ID may be required for entrance.Many fine mineral specimens were on display and available for purchase in the exhibit halls.Although priced for the most serious and wealthy collectors,their beauty was free for all to see.In addition to the vendors,there were collectors’displays,exhibits,and many pieces of interesting artwork.These are just a few of the many,many mineral samples at the Tucson Convention Center.Hundreds of different minerals were available for purchase,in a vast array of sizes,qualities,and prices.Specimens ranged in price from under a dollar to over$100,000!More delicate or valuable mineral specimens were protected with glass cases.A few items had their own armed guards.There were also minerals from private collections on exhibit,Trilobite fossils were extremely popular.Specimens were on exhibit and for sale from many parts of the world,ranging in length from a few millimeters to nearly a meter.A person could stay in Tucson,AZ for several weeks and still not see everything here at the worlds largest gem,mineral and fossil show.Its really something spectacular,so mark your calendars now if you’re thinking about attending next year’s show!Tucson showcase held once a year,rich in content,solid foundation,clear guidance,effective promotion.This is why many experts,scholars,collectors,businesses to actively participate in the cause.Not really looked forward to view the main show,you couldn’t know what the American market and collections of classic characters;if you do not view the main show,and now it is difficult to grasp the future market trends and direction.The main show organizing committee and the executive team,set more than 60 years of accumulation of resources,continuous introduction of professional social cultural feast for the public to enjoy,to establish a benchmark for the industry worldwide.
