Along with the development of modern science and technology and and of network communication technology, the network transmission mode attracts even more attention from people, and information age arises at the historic moment. The rapid development of information society requies that the communication network must have the ability to provide various telecommunication services, and this would, to a certain extent, increases the total task of telecommunication network in exchange, transmission and processing of information, and make the communication network gradually move towards integration, digitalization and informatization. SDH serves as a modern information transmission system, to it as the breakthrough point and with the help of related engineering, calculation work on engineering design of long distance optical cable transmission is studied and analyzed in detail, thus to lay a good foundation for the development of SDH transmission System.
