Research into Gui Youguang's Prose on Anti-ancient Japanese Invaders

嘉靖时期,倭乱严重。归有光家居昆山,亲眼目睹倭寇的凶残和官兵的无能,写下了一系列御倭散文。其叙事性御倭散文《昆山县倭寇始末书》将众多内容融于一炉:既有记载倭寇入侵的文献价值,又有记述军民同仇敌忾的文学价值,还有对于消极抗倭将领梁凤的尖锐批判。他的专论性御倭散文中有对全局的敏锐把握,也提出了具体的抵御策略。与同时期其他文人作品相比,他的散文多了一份对百姓的同情和哀思。

During Jiajing period, the Japanese invasion was disorderly serious. Gui Youguang lived in Kunshan city and witnessed scenes of human tragedy, writing many prose about anti-ancient Japanese pirates. The Whole Story of Japanese Pirates in Kunshan County, Mr. Gui＇ s narrative anti-Japanese Invasion prose, has both the literature value of recording the invasion of Japanese pirates and the literary value of narrating military-civil sharing a bitter hatred of the enemy, and the sharp criticism of the negative general Liang Feng as well. Gui＇ s monograph anti-Japanese prose have both keen grasp of overall situation and the specific resistant strategies involved. Compared with other literary works of the time, Gui＇ s essays reflect the sympathy and condolences to common people.
