Fuzhou Society in the Eyes of Canonized Ryukyu Envoys in Ming and Qing Dynasties

自明朝成化年间起,福州成为通往琉球的唯一指定口岸,中国册封琉球使臣在前往琉球前要在福州进行一系列准备工作,在使事完成后须在福州登岸前往北京。这些使臣们出使琉球的笔录中记载了他们在福州的见闻,反映了当时福州社会的一些真实情形,通过册封琉球使臣留下的记载,可以了解使臣们眼中的福州社会状况。

Since Chenghua years during Ming Dynasty,Fuzhou has become the only designated port leading to Ryukyu. The Chinese canonized envoys of Ryukyu conducted a series of preparatory work in Fuzhou before arriving in Ryukyu. When the mission accomplished,they landing in Fuzhou,would went to Beijing. Their record reflect some of real situations of Fuzhou community at the time.Through the record of canonized Ryukyu envoys left,you can understand Fuzhou social situation in the eyes of envoys.
