This article introduces the historical activities of Trisong Detsen, Zanpo of Tubo, who eliminated the Bon religion and dran pa nam mkhav who was forced to convert to Buddhism and reestablished the new Bon religion. It illustrates the historical background and conditions of the formation of the new Bon religion and points out that its formation was actually the start of the mutual absorption and integration between indigenous traditional culture on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Indian cultural tradition, which created conditions for reintegration of Tibetan traditional world outlook and values later on.
