白圭活动区域及生卒年代考

Textural Research on Bai Gui's Active Areas and his Dates of Birth and Death

从《史记·货殖列传》出发,搜集与白圭有关的各项史料,结合前人观点,在钱穆《白圭考》基础之上否定梁玉绳"战国有两白圭"的说法,进而对白圭的活动范围、个人事迹以及生卒年代进行考证。可以推知白圭生活在魏文侯时期的记载并不真实,并推断历史上真实存在的白圭只有一个,且生卒年大致与孟子相仿,应在公元前375年至公元前290年之间。其主要活动时代和范围应是魏惠王时期以魏国为主的中原地区,是秦国的崛起与魏国霸主地位丧失这一历史过程的亲历者。

Based on Shi fi： Biographies of Merchants and Qian Mu＇s Bai Gui＇s Biography, combined with the previous researchers＇ viewpoints and various existing historical data related to Bai Gui, It has been denied that there are two people named Bai Gui during the Warring States, which was claimed by Liang Yu-sheng. This paper further investigated Bai Gui＇s active areas, his deeds, and his dates of birth and death. Moreover, it was inferred that the record about Bai Gui during the period of Marquess Wen of Wei was not true and there was only one Bai Gui while Bai Gui＇s dates of birth and death might have been roughly estimated between BC375 and BC290, similar to those of Mencius. His main activities must have been in the central plains with State Wei as the dominator during the rein of King Hui of Wei, accordingly, he must have also witnessed Qin~ rise and Wei＇s decline.
