王易的印学成就主要体现在篆刻创作和印学研究两个方面。其篆刻幼承家学,私淑黄牧甫,篆法运用自如,刀法冲切皆擅,章法丰富多变。在印学研究方面他独辟蹊径,从篆书和金石学的盛衰考察篆刻发展史,积极倡导"印外求印"。

Seal cutting creation and sphragistics study are the major achievements of Wang Yi＇s sphragistics. He carried on seal cutting from his family. With Huang Mupu＇s deep influence, he was skilled at seal cutting with rich and varied styles, both in punching and cutting. He created an unique way of studying the seal cutting＇s development from the prosperity and decline of seal character and sphragistics, and actively proposed to absorb the elites of related fields to improve the level of seal cutting.
