Adipic acid is one of the most important organic synthesis intermediate and chemical raw. This paper reviews the research progress about synthesis technology of adipic acid in view of the difference between raw materials. Also, this paper described the research progress of the hydrogenation reaction process and the oxidation reaction process detailedly, which happened in the synthesis of adipic acid. tn the end of this paper, three synthesis routes of adipic acid that hold the greatest potential for development have been expected.
