As a part of the railway vehicle, the brake system has great significance to the safety of railway transporta- tion. 120 air brake is the major part of freight wagon brake system. The inspection quality of 120 control valve, the core component of the 120 air brake system, has direct influence on the safety of the freight train. This paper gives a brief introduction of the structure and characteristics of the 120 control valve and, combining the actual situation of China＇s railway transportation, analyzes in detail the maintenance process of the 120 control valve and the main pro- cess of the work content and requirements.
