非洲地震监测台网项目(Africa Array)是由威特沃特斯兰德大学、地球科学理事会(CGS)和宾夕法尼亚州立大学发起,公司企业、政府机构和学术组织联合受益,集人才培养、基站与网络建设升级、科学研究为一体的综合项目。项目在地球物理研究方面取得了许多高水平的成果,新建和升级了非洲地震监测台站和网络,并以此提供学生现场学习的机会和条件,并为社会提供数据与服务。

The Af r ica Array has three founding par tners, the University of the W i- - watersrand,the Councl for Geoscience （CGS） , and the Pennsylvania State University . Ben-efits for partners with corporation have benn achieved . It is a comprehensive program by government and academic organizations,through strategic and specialized programming that involves geoscience training, observatories and n e two rk build and upgrade, scientilic research. This program has achieved high level of achievement in geophysical research, including installing, upgrading,and operat ing seismic observational s tat ions and network s . It provides a training opportunities for students,and helps to archive and distribute seismic data for the public .
