慧琳《一切经音义》疑难俗字考辨七则

Research of the Character Relation of the Buddhist Scripture Compiled by Hui Lin

慧琳《一切经音义》是佛经音义的集大成著作,通过提取、归纳慧琳《一切经音义》所释的文字信息,结合《慧琳音义》之外的相关文献,对《慧琳音义》中七组文字关系进行考辨,一方面可以疏通、辨析慧琳书中的一些疑难文字,另一方面也能为相关字词关系的考察提供更多证据。对这类文字的考辨,不但有利于解决具体的字词关系、字际关系,也有利于构建更为完善的汉字体系。因为那些看似是已识的字,常常存在或字际关系不清、或层级关系模糊、或形义关系不协等问题,这类文字现象更需要引起学界的重视。

This paper is a study of Sound ＆ Sense of Yiqiejing, a comprehensive work on sound and sense of Buddhist scripture by Hui Lin, by selecting and summarizing the word exegesis provided by Hui Lin on the one hand, and examining the relationship of the seven sets of the characters in the work on the other, in order to clear up some puzzles with the characters of the work and provide new evidence for the investigation of other related words. Such researches on these Chinese characters are expected not only to clarify the relationship between words and characters and that among characters, but also build a more perfect system for Chinese characters--many known Chinese characters still incur some problems involving vague horizontal or hierarchical relationship, or incongruity between form and sense. Such issues are well worthy of our attention.
