Some Understandings on the Abilities of Editors

立足于文字编辑,论述编辑能力的内涵以及编辑能力具有的主体性、创造性、专业性、综合性四个特点,指出在现代出版条件下,文字编辑必须具备编校能力、策划能力、管理能力和创新能力,还探讨了专业素质对编辑能力的影响。

Based on the abilities required of copy editors, this paper focuses on the connotations of editing abilities, explaining editing abilities have the four features of subjective initiative, creativity, professionalism and comprehensiveness. It points out that in modern publishing, copy editors should have editing and proofreading ability, planning ability, managing ability and creative ability. It has also discussed the influences of professional competenceon editors＇ abilities.
