美国华裔女性文学作为世界文学中的重要组成部分,其在美国本土文化和中国传统文化的双重影响下造就了华裔女性作家双重的文学创作方向。一方面,华裔女性作家希望通过文学作品中的中国文化的负面描写彰显作者本身对美国本土文化的敬仰和认同;另一方面,部分华裔女性作家却希望通过人物形象的再次塑造彰显中国传统文化中"英勇无畏"的女性形象,改变流行于美国等西方世界对中国传统文化的消极认同,为中国文化的"走出去"做出贡献。
