The Relationship Between Best-sellers and Change of Times in New China

摘要 从新中国畅销书出版传播的历史来看,畅销书与时代变迁之间具有内在必然联系。一方面,时代制约、决定着畅销书,即时代的迫切需要催生了体现这种时代要求的畅销书,时代创造了某种图书得以出版并畅销的客观条件,畅销书的出版传播依托于时代、依赖于时代;另一方面,畅销书反映、影响着时代,即一定时代的畅销书体现了该时代的历史特征、历史主题,映射了该时代的社会心理、大众心态;图书的畅销,既推动社会的进步,也有可能阻碍历史前进,畅销书对社会的发展发挥着短期或长期的作用。时代作用于畅销书,畅销书又反作用于时代,畅销书离不开时代,时代又呼唤畅销书。 Based on the history of best sellers' publication and dissemination in new China, there are internal connections between the best-seller and change of times. In one aspect, the times determines and restricts best-sellers. In other aspect, best-sellers also influences and reflects the times. The former aspect means that the urgent demand of the times improves bestsellers which can stand for the times. The times creates an objective factor that allows some books to be published and sold well, while the publication of best-sellers relies on the times. The latter aspect means that specific times" best-sellers reflect unique characteristics and theme of history, and reflect social psychology and social mood. Furthermore, best-sellers influences the development of the times and promote the progress of society. However, it also has possibility to hinder the progress of history. To be specific, best-sellers have short term or long-term effects on the society. In conclusion, best-sellers interact with the times, the best-sellers cannot leave the times, and the times summons best-sellers.
