南太平洋岛国发展道路的双重困境——以斐济为例

The Dilemma Confronting South Pacific Island Nations on Their Roads of Development-A Case Study of Fiji

一方面,发达国家主导的全球化,导致以斐济为代表的市场普遍狭小和资源较为缺乏的南太平洋岛国受到强烈冲击;另一方面,受传统观念的束缚以及长期的殖民统治,不仅使得该地区的现代化转型困难,更直接导致这些国家管理能力和经验的缺乏,阻碍了经济发展,应对全球化的能力也就相对欠缺。因而南太平洋岛国在发展过程中面临既要应对全球化的冲击,也要承受发展过程中内部问题困扰的双重困境。本文选取南太平洋岛国斐济作为考察对象,从外因和内因两个角度分析该国在发展过程中遇到的问题,以期为该地区的岛屿地区国家应对发展问题提供某种解决思路和启示。

On the one hand, the globalization dominated by developed countries causes the south Pacific island nations which are represented by Fiji generally typical of small markets and lacking resources to be struck hard; on the other hand, the bondage of traditional concepts and the long-term colonial rule makes not only the modern transformation of the regions or these countries especially difficult, but also lead directly to their lack of their management capacity and their experience, thus hindering their economic development and making their ability to cope with globalization subnormal. Hence, the development of the south Pacific island nations will face two dilemmas-having to deal with the impact of globalization and sustaining the trouble caused by the internal problems. This article selects the south Pacific island nation Fiji as investigation object and ana- lyzes the country＇s problems in its process of development in terms of both external causes and internal ones as two angles in order to provide some solutions and enlightenments for development problems.
