An Examination of the Complementary Development of Chinese and Western Sports Culture and the Prospects

中西方体育文化依存的社会背景和哲学思想、表现形式、核心理念存在差异,但是中西方体育文化具有追求和平、公正和以人为本的文化共性;因此,通过开放交流促进中西方体育文化的互补发展,西方体育文化可以丰富和完善中国体育文化的物质文化、精神文化和制度文化;中国体育文化传统的重义轻利、重德尚道、修身养性和真善美道德思想能调整西方体育文化价值目标,丰富西方体育文化内涵,提升西方体育文化内涵品质。

Although there are some differences between Chinese sports culture and western sports culture in social backgrounds, philosophical underpinnings, presentation and core conceptions, there are some common qualities in peace and fairness pursuance and people-oriented motivation. The open communication between Chinese and western sports culture is an important condition for the complementary development of the two cultures. Western sports culture can enrich and perfect the material, spiritual and mechanism cultures of Chinese sports culture. The values such as righteousness, morality, good behavior and cultivation of China＇s sports culture can help modify and improve western sports culture.
