Influence of Differences between Chinese and Western Cultures on Translation

语言是文化的一部分,并对文化起着重要作用。翻译已不再被简单地当作是语言之间的转换,而是被视为一种跨文化交际的行为,一种文化模式的转换。这决定了充分了解文化差异对翻译的重要性。本文试从地理环境、传统习俗、生活方式、宗教信仰及思维方式等几个方面,来阐述中西文化差异的各方面以及在翻译过程中应注意的几点问题。

As an important part of culture,language plays a key role on cultural exchange.Translation now is considered as a cross-cultural communication and a transformation of the culture more than just a transmission of the language.This article intended to make a comparison between the cultural differences in translation reflected on their different geological environment,traditional customs,religious beliefs and ways of thinking between the west and the east.
