Mencius and Shang Yang:a comparative study on thoughts about relationship between people and land

How to deal with the relationship between people and land has always been the problem being thought about since ancient times.During the Warring States period,both Mencius and Shang Yang explored on this issue,and respectively put forward their claims.Mencius and Shang Yang's thoughts about the relationship between people and land included rich content:how to treat people's benefit and power,how to make people rich and nation strong,how to settle disputes with other nations,etc.The comparative study on the thoughts not only can be helpful in understanding the relations between people and land in the traditional culture,but also can provide inspiration and reference to solve the three agricultural problems today.
