由一枚戒指所引发的血案在不同时代的不同演绎,展现了"尼伯龙根"传说的一种"侨易"过程。北欧神话经由口头传到冰岛并被用文字记录了下来;到了13世纪,齐格弗里德作为屠龙勇士又正符合了骑士阶层所推崇的形象;而19世纪资产阶级崛起,对专制统治阶级的不满日益加深,于是有了瓦格纳的《尼伯龙根的指环》;之后随着科技的不断进步,人类社会工业化程度飞速提高,人与人之间的合作与竞争以及人与自然间的平衡问题愈加凸显出来,则又成为了托尔金在《魔戒》中想要探讨的主题。
The different interpretation of a murder triggered by a ring in different times shows a kind of "Kiao-I" process of the Nibelung legend. The Nordic myth was passed to Iceland in oral and recorded there in words; by thirteenth Centu- ry, Siegfried as a warrior coincided with the image deeply worshiped by the Equites Class; in nineteenth Century, as the rising bourgeoisie was increasingly dissatisfied with the autocratic ruling class, Wagner composed Der Ring des Nibelun- gen; then with the continuous progress of science and technology, the degree of industrialization in human society has in- creased rapidly and the cooperation and competition between people and the balance problem between man and nature be- come more prominent, which becomes a topic that Tolkien wants to explore in The Lord of the Rings.
