摘要
This paper discusses methods for governing the global good. It holds that justice for both people and non-human creatures requires a change at the foundations of our view of life. What is needed is not only a few more government regulations or a little more international cooperation based on the unquestioned presupposition of the priority of national sovereignty and economic growth, but also a different perspective on our responsibilities for the wellbeing of the commons, recognizing that increasingly the environmental commons is global in scope and requires some transnational means of governance. It also holds that a"responsibilities"approach calls for the greening of all kinds of responsibility and not only those of national governments and international organizations.
