The land - based anti - submarine helicopter was taken as an example to introduce an approach for the mission decomposition and technical criterion determination of millitary equipment. First, the battle related elements of helicopter were analyzed and the basic missions and capabilities were extracted. Then the basic missions were decomposed into typical combat operations and more detailed operation behaviors. Combat scene for a long -range submarine assault was supposed. The hit probability for conditions of different technical parameter combination were analyzed, and related parameter criterions were set based on the analytical results.
