Ian McEwan points out the similarity between patriarchal society' s control over nature and women to the point in his novel Black Dogs. The logic men adopt to use and control nature is applied to women dominance, and expanded to oppression of any disadvantaged groups. Consequently, only by eliminating androcentrism, can nature and human beings, men and women, people of different races and classes be in harmony, can human society in sustainable development. The ideas McEwan expresses in his novel coincide with those advocated by ecofeminists. Therefore, we can discover awareness of ecofeminism embedded in the novel and the author' s deep reflection on social problem by the analysis of the novel from the perspective of ecofeminism.
