摘要
高等教育对学习者英语综合能力的培养已成为焦点,然而当前中国教学过多关注学生词汇量的丰富程度和英语语法的准确度。为了对中国英语学习者英语能力进行评估,研究选取天津某高校2014级非专业英语学习者和加拿大阿尔伯塔某高校英语本族语使用者各100名进行词汇使用的对比研究。通过定量和定性的综合分析发现:中国英语学习者英语词汇存量偏低,主要表现为创新性、浓缩性、复杂性和变异性不足,词汇与目标语的社会文化顺应性不强。两者均说明中国英语学习者社会语用能力羸弱。研究认为,当下英语教学应关注英语学习者词汇补偿策略和社会语用能力的培养。
The cultivation of college students comprehensive ability on English has become a hot issue of high education researches.However, the English courses in China focus more on learners capacity of English vocabulary and the accuracy of English grammar.In order to reflect on learners performance, this research has taken contrast analysis of the English learners in a Tianjin university and the native speakers in an Alberta university (200 freshmen altogether with 100 students in each university).After both quantitative and qualitative study of the subjects, it is found that the English learners in China are disabled in the capacity of English vocabulary and adaptation of target socio-cultural background, which all leads to English learners lack of socio-pragmatic competence.It is suggested that the English teaching should pay more attention to the cultivation of students vocabulary compensatory strategy and social pragmatic competence.
