On the Strategies of Translating Chinese Network Catchwords into English

在中国国际化程度和范围日益扩大、深化,全世界也希望能够更多更好地了解中国的时代背景下,作为译者,职责所在应当密切关注且慎重选择应用恰当的译法。作者针对热词汉译英翻译实践中出现的典型问题,从理论和实践二个方面予以探讨:在经典翻译理论中寻求适用理论作为基本依据;结合常用译法和译文错误进行具体分析。笔者希望本文对于网络热词的汉译英翻译研究和跨文化交流、外宣起到一些借鉴作用。

With the internationalization of China and the increasing curiosity about China, as a translator, one should be more attentive in choosing the appropriate way. Basing on the analysis on typical problems occurred in practice,this thesis tries to discuss from two dimensions：to find theoretical supports from classical theories and to summarize applicable methods from the commonly used ways and the lessons learned from the mistakes. Hope for offering some valuable reference for the translating and cross -cultural communication in future.
