摘要
通过英汉语音修辞的比较,论述语音修辞的可译性及其限度,并从《红楼梦》两个英语全译本中选取回目中几组典型的语音修辞手法为例,分析语音修辞的翻译限度和译者的处理方式。
The paper mainly discusses the translatability of phonetic rhetoric and its limitation through a contrast of phonetic rhetoric in English and Chinese. Taking two complete English versions of Hongloumeng as cases, the paper analyzes the translation of some typical phonetic rhetoric devices in the chapter titles of the novel in order to confirm the translation limitation of phonetic rhetoric and explore translation methods of the translators.
