摘要
借助学习者自传来探究中国英语教育,具有重要理论意义和实践意义。在现象学理论视角指导下,基于30位一年级理科研究生的英语学习自传样本,通过扎根理论进行文本分析,系统揭示了他们水平自评、策略信念、情感因素、环境影响(关键事件/人物)等几种维度的态势,从而获得英语教学和学习的改进思路,并由此显示了学习者自传分析对英语教育多方位、立体化的启示意义。
It is both theoretically and practically meaningful to examine English Education in China with the aid of analyzing learners' autobiographies. Drawing on the theory of phenomenology, this research made a grounded theory analysis of English learning autobiographies by 30 first-year science majors from a Chinese university. The results revealed the general tendency in their self-evaluation of English listening/speaking/reading/writing skills, their beliefs of English learning strategies, their related emotional status, as well as some influential contextual factors such as critical events and people. The suggestions for improvement in English teaching and learning were raised correspondingly. The findings exhibited the great potential of and provided rich implications for employing English learning autobiographies in promoting English education.
