作为现代中国历史最悠久和最受尊敬的高校,清华大学经历了从留学预备学校到综合性大学、工科大学、再到国家旗舰大学的变化,其曲折经历与变化发展体现了宏大的中国政治潮流的影响,并成为其有志建设世界一流大学的特殊优势。
As both one of the oldest and most venerated institutions of higher education in modern China, Tsinghua had a rich history. From study abroad preparation academy to comprehensive university to polytechnic university to flagship institution, the twists and turns of its development reflected the broader political trends at play in China and left it with some particular strengths in the quest for worldclass status.
