Reflection on the Harmfulness of Totalitarianism through the Example of the Collapse of the Soviet Union

关于苏联解体的原因,国内外众说纷纭,但不可否认的是：极权主义是造成苏联解体的重要因素。苏联通过极权在短时间内获得了一定程度的发展,但由于极权主义本身固有的缺点,最终使其走向破碎。苏联解体充分体现了极权主义的危害性,即：排斥其它意识形态、强调政治至上、高压强制统治、践踏社会公益以及对人性本质的摧残。

So far, ttlere are many opinions about the reasons of the collapse of the Soviet Union. However, it is undeniable that the totalitarianism was the most important factor. The Soviet Union had made a lot of progress through totalitarianism, but the totalitarianism had inherent shortcomings and harmfulness, which brought the Soviet Union to crush finally. The collapse of the Soviet Union has fully embodied the harmfulness of totalitarianism, that is, excluding other ideology, emphasizing political supremacy, high-pressure mandatory reign, public welfare abuses and destruction of human nature.
