An Analysis of the Filial Piety Culture in Zuo Tradition

《左传》作为先秦儒家经典,中华文化之宝库,其文本中处处彰显着"孝"的踪迹,标榜着"孝"的重要性。其文中蕴含的"孝文化"内涵十分丰富,它不仅仅是人的行事主导,亦不可简单地定义为"事亲"之孝、"宗祀"之孝的伦理道德,它更是作为一种政治工具而存在。"孝"在春秋社会中发挥着举足轻重的作用,但它同时也不可避免地感染了时代的局限性。

Zuo Tradition, as a masterpiece of the Pre-Qin Confucian classics and the treasure of Chinese culture, reveals the trails of filial piety in the texts, and highlights the importance of filial piety. The connotation of filial piety culture is very abundant in Zuo Tradition. It was not only the dominant of a person＇s acts but also a political tool. It cannot be simply defined as the moral principles such as supporting parents, and the ancestral sacrifice. The filial piety played an important role in the society in the Spring and Autumn period, whereas it has inevitably the limitations of the times.
