The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology introduced ＂Rare Earth Industry Development Plan （2016-2020）＂ on October 18, 2016. The Plan comprehensively summarized the great progresses made in the ＂12th five-year＂ period and pointed out the new development situation and main problems it faced. Otherwise, MIIT also put forward the main development goals for the ＂13th five-year＂ period.
