On the Shunshanji Culture

顺山集遗址第一、二期遗存表现出一种异于周边同时期考古学文化的面貌,可命名为"顺山集文化"。与后李文化、贾湖一期文化、彭头山文化进行比较,考察顺山集遗址第一、二期遗存的相对年代及与其他考古学文化的互动关系,也反映出这类遗存作为一种新发现的新石器时代中期考古学文化,与周边同时期考古学文化可以明显区分。

The developing process from Phase Ⅰto Phase Ⅱ of Shunshanji Site in Sihong County, Jiangsu Province showed a pure cultural property with its own developing sequence of the archaeological cultures. By comparing the remains of Phases Ⅰ and Ⅱ of Shunshanji Site with that of some other archaeological cultures, such as Houli Culture, Jiahu Phase Ⅰ Culture, Pengtoushan Culture and so on and observing their chronological relationships and potential interactions, it is revealed that the remains of Phases Ⅰand Ⅱ of Shunshanji Site, as new-discovered type of archaeological cultural remains in the middle Neolithic Age, had obvious differences from other contemporaneous archaeological cultures in surrounding area, so it is the time to name Phases Ⅰ and Ⅱ of Shunshanji Site as a new archaeological culture, ＂Shunshanji Culture＂.
