宋夏交界区域内“会”的设置及其地名内涵

The Establishment and Connotation of “Hui” in the Boundary Area of Song and XiXia Dynasties

北宋年间,宋与西夏交界地区出现了一系列以"会"为通名的地名。西夏所置的"会"或为军事堡垒,或为和市、私市的贸易场所,其军事、经济职能并重,因而"会"不单单是一种定期的市场,而是在宋夏对峙时局下、宋夏交界特定区域内的为满足不同军事、贸易需求而建置的一种地名单元。以"会"为通名的地名大规模出现仅在这一时期的这一区域,特色鲜明。对各"会"进行地望考证是探讨其分布规律及其背后的地名学内涵的重要方法和途径。

During the Northern Song Dynasty, there was a series of place names as ＂Hui＂ in the border area between Song Dynasty and Xixia Dynasty. The ＂Hui＂ was set by Xixia Dynasty, which were used as the military fortress, or as the private market place. The ＂Hui＂ both has the functions of military and economic, so it is not just a regular market, but a special geographical name only in this period of war, and it is also only located in the boundary between Song Dynasty and Xixia Dynasty. In this paper, the positioning of ＂Hui＂ was verified, and it＇s regularities of distribution were also discussed. So we can better understand the intrinsic meaning of these geographical names.
