The Bad Marriage: A Study on Frank O' Connor's Short Stories from the Perspective of Ethical Literary Criticism

婚姻生活是爱尔兰短篇小说家弗兰克·奥康纳作品的重要组成部分,但是奥康纳笔下的这些短篇小说基本上都是不幸的婚姻故事。试图从文学伦理学批评的视角阐释《美国妻子》和《不可能的婚姻》等短篇小说"糟糕的婚姻"的创作主题,从而探究一系列不幸婚姻的家庭和社会原因,了解2 0世纪爱尔兰社会转型时期人们的婚姻价值观。

Marriage life is an important part of Irish short story writer Frank OXonnor＇s writing, however, these stories about marriage are almost unfortunate happenings. The paper attempts to analyze the “bad marriage” in such short stories as The American Life and The Impossible Marriage from the perspective of ethical literary criticism, in order to explore the familial and social reasons of these bad mar-riages, for the purpose of having a better understanding of Irish people＇s views of marriage in the 20th century.
