南社与新文化运动关系探析

A Probe into the Relationship between Nanshe and the New Culture Movement

如果仅从《南社丛刻》上发表的文字看,南社似乎与新文化运动无甚关联,但如果放宽眼界,把南社人的文学活动放到历史和文学史的视角看,对南社成员的文学活动与成果也不局限于社刊《南社丛刻》的话,南社人的文学活动就与新文化运动有了较为密切的关联。本文从文学观念、外国文学的译介和白话文运动三个方面探讨南社与新文化运动的关联。

Judged from Nanshe Series alone, there seems to be little connection between Nanshe and the New Culture Movement. But if Nanshe members and their literary activities are viewed with a broadened historical and literary horizon, their accomplish-ments go far beyond Nanshe Series publication. This confirms a close relationship between Nanshe members,literary activities and the New Culture Movement. This paper discusses the relationship between Nanshe and the New Culture Movement from three as-pects ,namely, literary principles, introduction and translation of foreign literature and vernacular Chinese movement.
