时至今日,历史学界对北洋军阀历史的研究可谓汗牛充栋,观之北洋军阀三大派系力量对比的专门研究却鲜有成篇,文章将对直、皖、奉各派军阀的实力作一简单罗列和浅显分析。来新夏先生将北洋军阀时代分为四个阶段,直、皖、奉的分裂混战发生在1916至1926年,属第三阶段,三系军阀的力量都经历了各自发展和此消彼长,所以只能分不同时期对各派力量进行纵向的比较分析。三派军阀轮流执政的顺序是皖、直、奉,这也预示着各派的崛起和衰落,文章将以其军事力量的消长为主线叙述这一过程。

Today, the study on the Northern warlords history is in an immense number, while specialized research on the comparison of the three factions of the Northern warlords forces is rare. The article will make a simple list and a simple analysis of power in Zhili warlord, Anhui warlord and Fengtian warlord. Lai Xinxia divides the era of Northern warlords into foivr stages, among which the division and melee of Zhili, Anhui and Fengtian warlords from 1916 to 1926 belongs to the third stage. The sequence of the three warlords mling in tivm is Anhui first, Zhili second, and Fengtian warlord third, which indicates the rise and fall of all the factions. This paper describes the process chiefly through the growth and decline of their military forces.
