朱佳教授认为,老年性哮喘患者年老体衰,肺脾肾三脏亏虚,更易受六淫、饮食、情志及劳累等因素诱发,虚实夹杂,交互为患。治疗上,发作期不可单纯治标,当治标固本;平时亦不可全部治本,当治本顾标。麻黄是为肺经之专药,功擅宣肺平喘,但也有很多不良反应,如兴奋、出汗、心动过速等,严重中毒时还可导致呼吸衰竭和心室纤颤等。朱佳教授一分为二辨证看待麻黄的治疗作用及其毒副反应,临证时加减,尽量发挥麻黄的治疗作用,减少毒副反应。
