Analysis of Ancient Chu Dialect “Zuo”

扬雄《方言》(卷一):"餥、飵,食也。陈楚之内相谒而食麦饘谓之餥,楚曰飵。凡陈楚之郊南楚之外相谒而飧,或曰飵,或曰食占。"古人相见而食麦饭,陈楚之内称为"餥",楚地曰"飵"。本部分重点探究"飵"与"餥"之联系,以及"飵"与少数民族语言之间的亲属关系。

In Yang Xiong＇ s Dialect （ Volume 1 ）, ＂Fei＂ is called ＂Fei＂, in Chu ＂Zuo＂, and in the outskirts of ancient people assemble and have wheat as food, people ＂Zuo＂.
