Russia's Economic Policy Orientation as Indicated by Putin's State of the Nation Address

The State of the Nation Address delivered by Russian President Putin by the end of Year 2016 attached importance to domestic economic issues,elaborating in particular current economic situation and measures to be taken by the federal government.The speech indicated that domestic factors are the fundamental causes of Russia’s economic stagnation in addition to other key factors,e.g.,slack international market and western sanctions.Having recognized positive changes in Russia’s economy,Putin expressed his notion of economic policy measures,with the priority of Russia’s economic policy clearly defined and specific measures assigned to relevant federal agencies.
