Big data is another major disruptive technology revolution after the cloud computing and IT industry. This paper introduces some basic concepts and characteristics of big data. The impact of big data on sci-tech periodicals is analyzed, according to the digital development, publishing form and editing process of journal, as well as the request of practitioners. The corresponding solutions are put forward.
