Lu Xun Art Academy in Yan , an was established in the flames of war; it had cultivated a multitude of talents specialized in cultural and artistic publicity for anti-Japanese war and revolution, who became tough through the baptism of blood and fire. From the special age and environment in which the Academy was bom, we can understand thoroughly the character of revolution and publicity flowing in its blood. The curriculum and training objectives of the Academy were characterized by definite revolutionary pragmatism, while the essence of talent cultivation lied in a practical function of revolutionary publicity. The newly-developing woodcut movement, led by Lu Xun, had also exer-ted a deep influence on the Academy＇s running.
